Ann Curry
Ann Curry has worked as journalist for more than more than 45 years. Her reporting focuses on natural disasters and areas of war. Curry was a reporter for wars from Kosovo, Iraq Syria Lebanon Palestine Afghanistan Darfur Congo. Ann Curry, (born November 19th 1956, Agana American journalist and TV news reporter and anchor who was best known for her job as a correspondent on the Today program, which was a morning news program aired on the National Broadcasting Co. (NBC). Curry is well-known for her reporting of human-rights crises as well as natural disasters and natural disasters, particularly in countries affected by conflict. Curry is the daughter of a U.S. Navy sailor and an Japanese woman. Her father was with her mother in Japan while he was stationed in Japan following World War II. The family was frequently on the move because of the military duties of her father. Curry graduated from high school at Ashland Oregon. She graduated with a journalism degree in 1978 from the University of Oregon in 1978. She was exposed to a variety of cultures and experiences during her upbringing may have influenced her empathy approach to communicating about international matters. Curry as well as her husband were frequently moving which is why she could not stay in one school over a period of more than two years. The couple moved to various locations such as San Diego Alameda Oregon Virginia. Ashland was her final high school. Her first job would lead to a lucrative career as an intern in broadcasting for KTVL Channel 10 Medford. The first female news reporter at the station when she was just 22. After that, she moved on to become an anchor and reporter for KGW which is the NBC affiliate station in Portland. After four years, she was appointed a reporter by KCBS TV located in Los Angeles. In the course of her work with the channel for a period of six years that she received the two Emmy Awards.
